About CIT  |  Peer Review

CIT products have undergone several types of peer review at various stages in their development, including scrutiny of their methods, analyses, and results. Final products were subject to a formal, independent peer review process, modelled on the requirements of the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment (MA) standards, to ensure that the CIT analyses and assessments met the highest standards for information and the latest scientific and technical findings.

Time pressures constrained the peer review process—in some cases by preventing the assembly of a complete slate of reviewers, in others by limiting the time allowed for review or for response to reviews by the project teams.
