Biogeoclimatic Zones and Subzones of the Cariboo Forest Region
The purpose of this publication is twofold. Firstly an introductory discussion of the Ministry of Forests approach to ecosystem classification is presented. Secondly, this publication reports on the results of a reconnaissance study carried out on the zones and subzones of the Cariboo Forest Region and briefly outlines the more important physical, biological and resource characteristics of these zones. This represents the first phase of a systematic study to describe the various forest ecosystems of the Cariboo Forest Region for resource managers. It is to be expected that our concepts of zones and subzones will change as the classification of the province becomes more complete.
