Forest Fibre Action Plan

Increasing the utilization of British Columbia's (BC) wood fibre is a key goal of the BC Forest Sector Competitiveness Strategy that is currently being developed and supports the Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operation's response to the 2015 and 2014 mandate letters requiring the Minister to "Examine ways to enhance security of fibre supply for secondary and non-lumber users".

This website will provide ongoing updates on the various initiatives and measures in the 2015 Forest and Fibre Action Plan and features hyperlinks to the policy implementation details.

The purpose of these voluntary operational guidelines are to provide advice on how to handle forestry biomass (where it has been determined that some or all of the biomass will be harvested) in a manner that promotes its harvest in the most efficient and cost-effect manner.
