Visual Landscape Design - Interactive Multimedia Training Instructions

This page explains the controls provided in the VLD Multimedia Training and can be printed for reference while using the training.
 


 
Adding a New User:


When you first start the Visual Landscape Design Interactive Multimedia Training, you will be asked to create a new user or select a user that has already been created. A user account allows your progress in the training to be tracked, and automatically displays the lessons you have already viewed each time you open the training menu.


 
Training Main Screen:
 
Getting Familiar with the Lesson Screens:
1. From the tab on the top left side of the lesson screen, you can Open or Hide the training Menu. When you open the menu, the current lesson is paused until either Hide the Menu or select a new lesson. When open, the links to the individual training lessons are displayed. Simply click on a lesson titles to view the lesson. Beside the lesson titles, your progress in the training is indicated. The green checkmarks represent the lessons you have already viewed and the blue arrow represents the current lesson that is being played.
2. This is the main lesson playback area where lessons and challenge questions are displayed.
3. The yellow buttons provide navigation:

The 'Prev' button is used to skip to the previous lesson.
The 'Play' button is used to play the lesson if it is paused.
The 'Pause' button is used to pause the lesson.
The 'Next' button is used to skip to the next lesson.
4. The green buttons provide external functions:

The 'Supporting Documents' button allows access to the VLD Training Manual as well as other supporting documents for this training. (Adobe Acrobat Reader required).
The 'Exit' button is used to exit the training.
The lesson display below these two buttons shows the current lesson number and name.
5. Below the yellow navigation controls is the progress slider and time display. You can click and drag the progress slider to browse within the current lesson. The time display shows your current time in the training compared to the total training time for the package.
6.  At the far right, a volume slider control is provided. It is important to note that this volume control is separate from your main Windows volume. If you have this slider all the way up, and your volume is still quiet, you probably have your main Windows volume turned down.
