For the past several years, Pope and Talbot Ltd has led the development of a sustainable forest management (SFM) planning framework in the Boundary TSA. The SFM Plan identifies ecological, social and economic values criteria and indicators of sustainable forestry. One of the biggest remaining challenges is linking the various strategic and tactical processes and products to operational forestry, and in turn, informing the strategic analyses of the ‘on-the-ground’ operational forestry realities.
