This report summarizes the results of riparian surveys completed for portions of the Tzoonie and Theodosia Rivers. The purpose of the surveys was to identify areas suitable for riparian restoration treatments. The primary objective of prescribed treatments is to improve riparian functioning for wildlife habitat and fish species by accelerating the establishment of natural old growth forest stand characteristics. Riparian prescriptions were prepared for both rivers. The surveys concentrated primarily on conifer leading stands with potential for variable density spacing treatments as most of the deciduous leading stands are being considered for operational harvesting. A total of 18.9 Ha in the Tzoonie and 46.6 ha in the Theodosia were surveyed for potential riparian treatments and 6.3 ha and 46.5 ha respectively are recommended for treatment.
