Haslam Lang water quality monitoring report (2003)
|Author(s): Carson, Brian||Imprint: Roberts Creek, B.C. : Carson Land Resources Mgt. Ltd., 2004||Subject: Water Quality, Forest Investment Account (FIA)||Series: Forest Investment Account (FIA) - Land Base Investment Program|
Water quality and quantity objectives were established for the Lang Creek watershed in 2002 based on extensive monitoring carried out between 1997 and 2001. These objectives provide a good reference point for assessing whether changes to land management have influenced water quality. The water monitoring program was continued with the assistance of the Forest Investment Account throughout 2003. This report evaluates the attainment of established objectives for 2003. Based on a review of weekly turbidity samples, water quality objectives set for turbidity were attained at both the Lang Creek and Haslam Lake drinking water intakes. There is no evidence that timber harvesting practices have negatively influenced water quality and water quality objectives at either the Lang Creek or Haslam Lake drinking water intakes.
