Abstract

The goal of this project is to provide better information to silviculture managers and policy makers to design more effective silviculture regimes for regenerated lodgepole pine (Pl) stands. This will be done by combining information from existing growth and yield models with new information on how Pl branch size varies over time at different establishment densities, on different sites, and when planted with improved seed from different sources. The impacts on log and lumber quality will then be estimated and financial analyses completed to compare silviculture options. Yield tables will be generated and published for the BC forest industry.
