Expanding PrognosisBC to the Chilcotin Variant of the Interior Douglas-Fir Dry Cool Subzone

This research is directed within the FII research program priority area of Growth and Productivity (quantity and quality). The research expands the PrognosisBC growth and yield model to the Chilcotin Variant of the Interior-Douglas-fir dry cool (IDFdk4) subzone in the Cariboo Forest Region. The research team calibrates juvenile tree height and large tree radial growth submodels and implement results in PrognosisBC. Thus, creating a model that is operational in the IDFdk4 subzone. The expansion of the model enables practitioners to predict accurate yield curves for timber supply analysis and to forecast the impact of partial cutting on future stand structures in multi-species and/or multi-aged stands.
