Abstract

The current state of the forests (Tree Lists), the kinds of stands that must be managed (Stand Structure Classification) and the way in which these forests and kinds of stands develop through time (IDF growth and yield projections) provide the foundation for 1) Evaluating the impacts of alternative forest policies and practices. 2) Forest Asset Valuation. 3) Verifying the sustainability of forest practices based on long term forecasts of their impacts. This proposals will further establish our Industry and Province as leaders in responsible forest stewardship. They help to maintain and enhance access to markets that are concerned about the impacts of our production process on social, environmental and economic values.
