Coho Creek is a valuable fish resource and the presence of coho fry (Oncorhynchus kisutch), cutthroat (O. clarki clarki), rainbow trout (O. mykiss), coastrange sculpins (Cottus aleuticus), threespine stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus), and lamprey (spp) has been confirmed (Stewardson, 2002). Approximately 50 schooling pink salmon were observed downstream of the work site. Which is the first time on record that pink salmon have been observed in Coho Creek. The connectivity of diverse fish habitats is integral to supporting multi-species systems such as Coho Creek. As such, the Iron Main FSR crossing of Coho Creek was targeted for a fish passage restoration to ensure habitat connectivity
