Modelling was undertaken to predict the probability of occupancy for selected wildlife within the Prince George and Mackenzie Timber Supply Areas in north-central British Columbia for a total mapped area of 13,097,890 ha. The models were causal webs based on a Bayesian statistical foundation and were implemented at 1-ha resolution. We generated eight beta-level causal webs for:
1) wolverine,
2) fisher,
3) northern caribou high-elevation,
4) northern caribou low-elevation,
5) mountain caribou early winter,
6) mountain caribou late winter,
7) grizzly bear spring, and
8) grizzly bear summer.
Digital products include soft copy maps in ESRI format, layer files for creating consistent legends for the maps, and meta-data consistent with Digital Data Delivery standards. We recommend further work to advance the testing of these models in order to estimate their spatial accuracy.
