|This project includes both level II assessments and deactivation works.|
1) Level II deactivation assessments completed as part of this project will help reduce the risk of road induced landslides. In general, the entire alignment has slump blocks and is on steep terrain. Any landslide initiating from this road would likely run out to the Ellis lake below. Roads are non-status.
2) Road deactivation works as a result of the perscriptions will include installation of French Drains and Armoured Swales (constructed as site specific requirements); fill will be pulled-fill pulls (are based on restoring an average oversteepened slope 84%, to a stable angle of repose); Improve existing cross-ditchs (increase skew, depth and fall); removal/disposal of existin drainage structures (culverts).
