The mountain pine beetle (MPB) epidemic is having unprecedented impact on the forests of British Columbia. In response to this the Ministry of Forests has provided direction for large scale salvage operations in the Forest Stewardship in the Context of Large-Scale Salvage Operation: An Interpretation Paper (MOF 2002). The guidelines in this paper have been used in the TSR 3 MPB Analysis for the Okanagan TSA. Using the TSR 3 projections for 2015 the projected status of the effected LRMP requirements can be reported and the recovery can be shown. The following forms the list of deliverables for the expanded project. 1. A spatial coverage (Arc Export File) delineating beetle kill defined where Marvin Eng’s predicted kill coincides with Shore-Safranyik predictions; 2. An excel spreadsheet similar to the pilot project deliverable that applies to all of Weyerhaeuser’s operating area in the Okanagan TSA. (Excluding TFL 15).
