The A-Branch Bridge was constructed in circa 1976 as a replacement to and immediately upstream of an existing structure. (The woods crib of the old structure was left in place) The bridge is founded on fir cribs, five high on the woods abutment and one high on the camp. These are spanned by five large diameter fir stringers. At some time subsequent to construction, a set of three log piers on cast in place concrete blocks was added to the camp abutment for additional support. Semi-annual inspections of this structure, beginning in 1994, noted the poor condition of the bridge, especially the heavy rot present in the stringers. In 2001 the bridge was condemned and blocked off to vehicle traffic.
