Author(s): Konwickie, Dave

Series: Forest Investment Account (FIA) - Land Base Investment Program - Innovative

Abstract

The deciduous forest resource is currently underutilized. The Likely Community Forest Association and Ainsworth Lumber Co Ltd have an interest to determine the geographic distribution and specific attributes of the deciduous resource within the portions of the Williams Lake TSA that are outside of Pulpwood Agreement (PA) 16 (see attached map), and specifically within the Likely CFA forest. The resultant information will assist in determination of the economic potential to utilize portions of the deciduous resource within sustained forest management processes. Timberline Forest Inventory Consultants (Timberline) have been retained by the Likely CFA and Ainsworth to undertake this study. The information to be obtained and employed in this analysis will include forest cover, TRIM II, licensee development plans, and all inventory and resource planning data which could potentially impact on forest management of specific portions of the deciduous resource.
