Description:
The objective of this project is to stabilize the stream bank upstream from the Lakes Creek Bridge (Photo 1) and add more riprap around the bridge support structure of the Lakes Creek Bridge. This is a high value stream as a high water refuge for Fraser River species (definitely Chinook salmon and rainbow trout) and spawning and rearing habitat for Rainbow trout. This project is not located in a community watershed. The project started on July 25, 2005 with the delivery of riprap to the site. The placement of the riprap was completed on August 23, 2005. The outputs of this project was the placement of rip rap with an excavator along the stream bank and around the Lakes Creek bridge structure (Photo 2) to minimize further erosion due to high water.
