Description:
Six permanent sample plots were located in the spring of 1988 across a range of stand structures in an uneven-aged Douglas-fir stand in the Knife Creek Block of the UBC Alex Fraser Research Forest near Williams Lake, BC. Based on the on the growth of these six plots, established across a range of stand conditions, it appears that unit area growth in both basal area and volume is both highly variable and apparently insensitive to stand structure.
