Description:
This project supports the development, and trial application of, Netica-based habitat supply models. Habitat supply modeling is a tool that can be used to construct explicit understanding about the ecological factors and relationships considered important to the management of specific wildlife. In the context of applied forest research, modeling is first used to formalize relationships and hypotheses about key resource issues. These relationships in turn are used to aid policy development to enable appropriate management direction. These models link wildlife habitat monitoring information, forest development planning, and forest management activities, and are used by personnel with the planning departments of industrial stakeholders as well as by Government agencies.
