This manual does not duplicate information published in central agency and other ministry documents, but refers to these publications where appropriate.
The manual’s content is structured logically, moving from the general to the specific both overall, and in each chapter and section.
Sections contain the following standard headings:
General -- a general discussion of the topic covered in the section.
Standards -- detailed standards. Not required under all subjects covered (e.g., this section).
Procedures -- detailed procedures for completing specific tasks. Not required under all subjects covered (e.g., this section).
References -- sources of more detailed information about the topic discussed in the section.
Also, sidebar subheadings (see "Purpose of This Manual" and "Manual Organization" headings above) are used to point to the main subjects covered in each section.
Where appropriate, guidelines are included to provide guidance in applying standards or completing procedures.
Illustrative diagrams (e.g., forms samples, product illustrations, etc.) are included in the text where practical, or are contained in appendices at the end of the section.
Where practical, detailed information from other sources is included in the text. Otherwise, significant information sources are listed under the "References" heading.
