Office Review

Review compliance with management plan for:

• general Christmas tree management principles
• specific commitments
• harvest in balance with planned annual harvest

Review compliance with permit conditions:

• general conditions
• specific conditions

Review compliance with general administrative requirements:

• reports submitted in a timely manner
• no outstanding government accounts

Field Review

If ongoing monitoring and inspections are inadequate to judge performance, conduct field review of operations for:

• field operations in compliance with management plan and permit
• general level of field practices

Review of Findings

Discuss the findings of the office and field review with the permittee before developing a replacement offer.

Replacement Offer

In the case of a replaceable Christmas tree permit, a replacement Christmas tree permit shall be offered to the permittee at least six months prior to the fifth anniversary of the existing permit.

No Replacement

Where a replacement offer is not made, the existing Christmas tree permit will remain in force until it expires.
