Scope

This policy establishes the overall framework for the minor revision of Crown land boundaries of woodlot licences.

Policy

It is the policy of this Ministry that the District Manager may make minor revisions to the Crown land boundaries of an existing woodlot licence at the time of its replacement, subject to the regulation.

Better Management

Minor revisions to the boundaries of the Crown land portion of woodlot licences may be considered only when the revision will result in improved forest resource management in the woodlot licence, the surrounding management unit, or both.

Maximum Area Increase

If the boundary revision results in a net increase in the Crown land area, that increase shall not be more than 10% of the original Crown land area of the woodlot licence.

Request

For revisions initiated by the licensee, the licensee must request, in writing to the District Manager, to revise Crown land boundaries of the existing woodlot licence.

Consent

For revisions initiated by the District Manager, the District Manager must obtain the consent of the licensee, in writing, to revise Crown land boundaries of the existing woodlot licence.

Referrals

The proposed revisions must be referred to the appropriate resource agencies, licenced resource users, and aboriginal people for their input.

Management Plan

The licensee must submit a revised management plan to the District Manager that includes the revised licence area. Additional inventory information will be required to determine a revised allowable annual cut.

AAC Source

Where boundary revisions result in increased area of Crown land and a corresponding increase in Crown allowable annual cut (AAC), the source of the additional AAC shall be, in order of priority:

  1. woodlot licence apportionment
  2. Forest Service Reserve apportionment
  3. SBFEP Category 1 apportionment
