To All Ministry Policy Manual holders

This manual supersedes all existing policy statements, specifically, Volumes I, II and III of the Ministry Policy Manual (green binders)which are now null and void. The new Ministry Policy Manual has been completely updated and revised.

The purpose of the Ministry Policy Manual is to establish official ministry policy through concise, non-technical statements and to communicate that policy to ministry staff, licensees, interest groups, and the general public. All the policies in this manual have been approved by the Executive of the Ministry of Forests. These policies are the primary guidelines for the administration and operations of the Ministry of Forests, pursuant to the Forest Act and other Acts and Regulations to which the ministry must adhere.

The Information Management Group of the Ministry of Forests is responsible for the formatting, printing, distribution, and maintenance of ministry policies. Any questions regarding the manual or the policy development process should be directed to the Manager, Planning, Information Management Group, at 387-6515.

Please remember that the Ministry Policy Manual is a collection of policy guidelines and, as such, does not replace decision making. If in doubt about anything in this manual, consult with your Branch Director or Regional or District Manager.
