Policy 3.3 - Out of Province/Country Travel Pre-Approval Authority

All out-of-province and out-of-country travel requires pre-approval on the Travel Authorization (FIN99) form as follows:

Protection Staff - only for travel to Watson Lake Forward Attack base** Director, Protection Branch (blanket approval)**

An out-of-province/country travel authorization would not be required when the most efficient means of travelling to a BC destination involves travelling through neighbouring provinces, territories or states.

*Operations Division Staff Only - Approval for out-of-province/country travel to areas bordering British Columbia

Regional Executive Directors may approve the Travel Authorization (FIN99) form to areas bordering British Columbia when the following criteria are met:

  • Travel will be limited to Alberta, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, Northwest and Yukon Territories and Nunavut
  • Regional Executive Director has pre-approved the trip (must pre-approve each trip)
  • Trip will not exceed 48 hours

**Protection Staff Only - Approval for out-of-province travel to Watson Lake Forward Attack base

The Director, Protection Branch has provided blanket out-of-province approval for travel to Watson Lake Forward Attack base.

Travel Authorization (FIN99) form filing - travel completion

Once travel has been completed, include approved FIN99 form in iExpense Report Receipt Envelope (FIN242) for audit purposes.
