CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JURISDICTIONS
Table 1 provides a synopsis of forestry-related distinguishing features of the jurisdictions included in the comparison. Figures 1 to 6 illustrate some of this same information in graphical form. The information presented has been selected to provide a context for the comparison of forest management regulations and rules among the jurisdictions. Due to the way various jurisdictions report available geographic and timber harvesting information, comparative data could not always be obtained. In addition, some of the jurisdictions simply did not provide all the information necessary for a comparative review.
