Objectives:

To field test open pollinated families of white pine seedlings against rust
resistance.
-
To compare growth and vigor amongst families.
Experimental Design:
Treatments

Sixty families of white pine seedlings were grown from trees selected from
coastal and interior white pine parents.
-
The seedlings were grown under contract by CIP.
Layout:
-
There are 25 blocks.
-
Each block contains 60 families of 4 seedlings per family.
-
Families are identified by labels on stakes, one stake per family.
History:
-
1987 - seeds were sown in 1-0 styros.
-
1988 - seedlings were planted at Nakusp.
-
1992 - fall measurement with assessments.
