Objectives:

  • To estimate the response potential of selected species to fertilization with nitrogen-sulphur urea.
  • To examine the relationship of short-term foliage response to log-term growth response.

Experimental Design:

Treatments:

  • At each location two levels of fertilization were tested (0 and 435 kg/ha). The application rate is equivalent to 178.4 kgN/ha. Target species differed with location. In all, four species (lodgepole pine, yellow pine, larch and Douglas fir) were treated.

Layout:

History:

  • 1986 Layout, measure trees, foliage samples and fertilize
  • 1987 Foliage samples
  • 1989 Remeasure all trees

Status: Dormant
