Objective:

To determine the effects of initial espacement (plantation density) on the growth and yield of interior spruce.

Experimental Design:

Treatments

  • Five espacements (500, 1000, 1500, 2000 and 2500 trees per hectare) are tested.

Layout

  • Randomized complete-block design.
  • Three replicates (blocks), each consisting of five treatment plots.
  • Plots are square, variable size (depending on espacement) and contain 12 rows of 12 trees.

History:

  • May, 1995 plantation establishment.
  • 1999 first five-year measurement
  • 1999 classified biogeoclimatically.
  • 1999 Establishment nad Progress Report.
