Objectives:
To evaluate to the growth and adaptability of:
-
coastal x interior Douglas-fir hybrids, and
-
Douglas-fir seedlots from the Submaritime (SSM) zone
on productive, low elevation sites in the southern Interior.
Experimental Design:
Genetic entries included in test (160 total):

Field Layout:
Randomized complete-block design with eight replicate blocks. The genetic
entries were randomly subdivided into 4 sets of 32 entries; sets were randomly
assigned to positions in blocks; genetic entries were randomly assigned to
four-tree row plots within sets. Sampling units are individual trees spaced
at 2 x 1 m. White stakes identify corners.
History:
-
1997 plantations established.
-
1999 plantation brushed and third-year measurements.
Status:
Active
