Introduction to Extension Notes
Extension Note EN01

Extension Notes are a new form of extension from the Forest Sciences section of the Cariboo Forest Region. Their purpose is to summarize information for field-based operational staff in Regions and Districts, and with Licencees. Extension Notes are intended to provide concise technical information for improving forest and range management practices and assisting in solving field-based problems.

Extension Notes will summarize a variety of types of Forest Sciences information, such as:

Extension Notes have been identified by Forest Sciences clients as the main areas for focusing research. Issue groups direct the planning, implementation and reporting of all Regional research. Each Extension Note will correspond with one or more research issue groups, and the appropriate issue group(s) will be highlighted with shading. We recommend that Extension Notes be filed for future reference by issue group.

The Forest Sciences section plans to produce a series of Extension Notes over time and will periodically distribute an index of all existing Extension Notes.
