All users of the Rainbow Forest Service Road, from the junction of the
Germansen ‘North’ Road to kilometer 30, where the road becomes the ‘North Phillips Forest Service Road (kilometer 70), please note the

“First Contracts Posted for Construction and Services”
The first Invitation to Tender for Construction is now posted on the
BC Bid website for the 31-40km section of the Connector and closes June 10th.
In addition, the ITT for Field Inspection and Quality Assurance Testing
was posted yesterday for the full project. A second construction ITT will be posted today, May 20th, and a full schedule of contracts can
be viewed under the Contracts link on this site.

“Information Sessions for Contractors and Equipment
Owners held in Mackenzie and Fort St. James”
On Thursday, March 18th in Fort St. James and on Monday,
March 22nd in Mackenzie two separate information sessions were held where interested contractors and equipment owners
dropped-in to talk to staff from the Ministry of Forests, Mines and Lands on how to best take advantage of opportunities for
work with the Ft St James – Mackenzie Connector Project. Approximately 30 people visited the session in Fort St. James
and 20 in Mackenzie. The information presented at those sessions is now posted on this site under the Contract Information
links. As well, any additional questions asked at those sessions are under the Q&A portion under Contract Information.
Interested contractors and equipment owners can still pose questions to the Project Team through the links under the Contract
Information section.

“Project Manager announced for the Connector Project”
Jennifer Stalker, a forester from the Mackenzie Forest District was
announced as the successful candidate for the Project Manager (Special Projects) position with the Engineering Branch to lead the
Connector Project. Jennifer brings a strong project management background to the job with some key experience in other community-based
projects in the North. Ray Tardiff will be assisting Jennifer as the Alternate Project Manager. Welcome aboard Jen!

“Wayne Martin takes over as new Project Sponsor”
With reorganization changes in the Ministry of Forests, Mines and Lands,
Wayne Martin, Regional Staff Manager in the Northern Interior Region takes over the role of Project Sponsor from Rob Johnson
for the Connector project.

“Connector Team visits Mackenzie Chamber of Commerce”
Rob Johnson, Regional Staff Manager and Project Sponsor; Ray Tardiff,
Regional Roads Specialist and Acting Project Manager; and Tracey Raume, Engineering Group Leader attended the Mackenzie Chamber of
Commerce’s Annual General Meeting with Dave Francis, District Manager, Mackenzie Forest District on February 18th. Rob Johnson spoke
on the current status of the project and its potential impacts and opportunities for businesses in Mackenzie and area. There were some
great questions and interests shown in the project. The local paper covered the meeting and here is a copy of the article from the March 2nd
front page of the Mackenzie Times
