B.C. DELEGATION TO RAISE SOFTWOOD CONCERNS IN OTTAWA
VICTORIA Forests Minister Michael de Jong is leading a delegation of 24 community leaders and representatives of First Nations, labour and the forest industry to Ottawa to take the softwood lumber concerns of British Columbians directly to Parliament Hill.
The delegation will meet with International Trade Minister Pierre Pettigrew, Natural Resources Minister Herb Dhaliwal, Finance Minister Paul Martin and other elected federal officials on Monday. The delegation will raise awareness about the current plight of the British Columbia forest sector.
