I submitted a Recreation Site Tenure to ESF using eziLink. When I look up the submission ID in ESF, it says it's in progress and has been accepted by MOFR. But it's not showing up in my district Inbox. What has happened to my submission? |

Check that your submission does not have the field set to "Yes". If it does, this explains why you never received anything in the Inbox. When this field is set to Yes, it only validates the submission to ensure it is correct. It doesn’t actually submit anything into FTA. A user might use this to check a submission before actually uploading it.
Change the field to "No" and resubmit. The submission should then appear in your Inbox.

The notification email I receive from my ESF submission contains the message "Message text cannot be null". What does this mean? Has my submission failed? |
-
Sep 29, 2009 -
When Approving or Rejecting an ESF submission, district staff receive the "FTA300 - Inbox Confirm Approve" pop- up dialog box. The box contains a standard text message that is delivered to the submitter. District staff can add to this message text or delete it and add a completely new message.
However, if the message text is deleted and no new text is added, the submitter receives a notification stating "Message text cannot be null". This does not affect the status of the submission.

As a follow up to my last question (Ref#:12295847), how do I get a report for FTA submissions? |
-
Jan 26, 2009 -
The Corporate Reporting System (CRS) at [http://apps28.for.gov.bc.ca/crsrm/browse.do] has a sub category for ESF submissions that contains 9 different types of reports. The "ESF011 - Electronic Submission Tenure Application Search Report" should provide the data you require.

Is there a way to get a report out of ESF on the number of submissions entered for a particular district in a particular year? |
-
Jan 23, 2009 -
It depends on the type of submission.
For FTA submissions, yes, there is a report that can shown this information. The report is possible because a FTA submission creates a tenure application that stores the district.
For RESULTS submissions, no, there is no report because the RESULTS submissions update and create Openings, standards, Forest Covers, and Activities. It is possible to create a report, but not too many people have requested it.
There is a report that shows the RESULTS submissions made by an ESF organization. An ESF organization is different from a client or district.

I have made an amendment submission ID 526637 and am getting an error message "[196] Total of all Net Areas for this Opening exceeds the Opening Gross Area. SU: A Total Net Area: 42.2 Opening Gross Area: 41.8" and do not understand where the 42.2 is coming from. I have looked at the XML and cannot see any changes in the numbers from what I have in Phoenix. Can you help me out here? Thank you Diane

Is there a listing of businesses/consultants that provide third-party ESF submission services? |
-
Sep 3, 2008 -
Two initial lists, one for FTA and one for RESULTS, were developed in the early stages of ESF to attempt and aid the transition to mandatory ESF submissions. No current lists are being maintained, however, and there are several other applications now using ESF as well. Your best bet may be to contact your local MOF district ESF contact. Here are links to the early lists:

What is the minimum allowed C.P. polygon size for ESF submissions into FTA? If this is documented somewhere, could you point me to it. Thanks |

sorry gave you the wrong email address in previous email Thank you |

The solution for this error states that you should add the Timbermark, I'm assuming this would be the one that exists in RESULTS, TAXPNN. If this does not help please send a note to APPHELP FORHISP.APPHELP@gov.bc.ca with the ESF Submission # and/or xml file.

How does version 9 of the FTA schema calculate CP geometry? How does this differ from schema 7 and 8? |
-
Apr 29, 2008 -
In version 7 and 8 of the FTA schema, there was no correlation between the cut block geometries and the cut permit geometry. This was done on purpose in order to handle the special cases where the cut permit was not the sum of the cut blocks (eg. sqared off CP's).
FTA 4 and schema 9 addresses this issue. If the cut permit being submitted is 1) not a salvage cp and 2) does not exist in a pre-defined table that identifies the older squared off cutting permits, then the cut permit is generated as the sum of the cut blocks. For new CP’s, the cut permit is generated from the submitted cut blocks. For amendments, the submitted cut blocks, plus any cut blocks that exist in FTA, are used.
The older squared off cutting permits were identified prior to FTA 4 going live. A report was created of all existing cutting permits where the area of the cut permit didn’t match the area of the cut blocks. This was sent out to districts to identify which ones were supposed to be like this and which ones were a mistake. The ones that were supposed to be like this were identified so that any new submissions for that CP would not re-create the cut permit geometry as the sum of the cut blocks. For these CP's as well as salvage CP’s, cut permit geometry is required. For all others, any geometry supplied for the cut permit is ignored and overwritten by the sum of all the cut block geometries.

Hello, does a user have to be part of an association (RPF, ect) to submit FTA/RESULTS submissions?
|
-
Apr 28, 2008 -
Not necessarily. First, to make ESF submissions, a user must have a valid BCeID linked to a Ministry of Forests and Range client ID.
Then for FTA submissions, appropriate FTA access is required as listed at [http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/his/ft/access.htm].
For RESULTS submissions, appropriate RESULTS access is required as listed at [http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/his/results/access.htm]. Note that for RESULTS Declaration submissions, an RPF or RPF authorization is required.
