My cutblock is marked as SP exempt in CENGEA, however when I submit to RESULTS the opening does not come up as SP Exempt. Why? And is there any way to work around this. Are we missing something in the submission or is there something in particular that we need to update in RESULTS to have it come up as SP Exempt?

Thanks,
  • New Nov 20, 2009 -
SP Exempt is an optional field. You would have to check the submission file you sent in to see if it has a tag indicating that the opening is or is not SP Exempt. If no such tab was created then the default is N. If you are uncertain as to how to check for the tag please contact APPHELP at 250-387-8888 or E-mail at FORHISP.APPHELP@gov.bc.ca

How would the District go about authorizing a service provider (acting on behalf of multiple FLTC applicants) to make ESF submissions to RESULTS using their BCEiD? (i.e. for small-scale salvage >1 ha, where MoFR has responsibility to reforest).
  • New Nov 19, 2009 - Scott Akerley -
As of this year BCEID's can be granted access as a district user in RESULTS. This can be done by contacting the access grantor at RESULTSAccess@gov.bc.ca or by having the contractor fill out the access request forms for RESULTS at this site:
    http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/his/efm/access.htm

Previous to this contractors needed to be given an IDIR account to use and given district permissions.

Hello. I’m having difficulties changing LC blocks to S. From the Q&A’s, I found the following (may 11, 2009):

From milestone section
2. When all the standard units are declared post harvest, the
cut block status will be set to 'S', ( Silviculture Harvest)
Notes: Status info will not be updated if status is already 'S'

What does “declaring the standard units post-harvest” mean? Looking in RESULTS, the SUs are defined, but the block is still LC in FTA. Will the block not go to S in FTA until all the SU’s are declared RG? FG? I thought the block should be S in FTA once silviculture activities began, not when they are complete.
  • New Nov 18, 2009 -
In response to your first question, post-harvest milestones must be declared.

The RESULTS tech specs detail how a block moves from HB to LC to S. http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/his/results/webhelp/

    From disturbance section

    1. If a disturbance record for the opening has the Disturbance Complete check box checked, and all the disturbances for the opening has a Disturbance End Date, the cut block status will be updated to 'LC' - logging complete, unless the cut block status is already of status 'S'; in which case, the status remains the same.

    From milestone section
    2. When all the standard units are declared post harvest, the cut block status will be set to 'S', (Silviculture Harvest)
Notes: Status info will not be updated if status is already 'S'
The FTA tech specs detail how a block goes from PP to HB
    3. When CP status changes from PP,PI,PL to HI,HA any blocks in PP status will get changed to HB.

Codes of HI and HC are for CP's or licences without CP like TSL's.
Licence and CP level status changes are within FTA. PA, PE, PI, HI all occur through the tenure application process.
For TSL's licence level and forest licence, etc CP level
    PA= no application received yet
PE-= application has arrived electronically and is in district inbox
PI= district has cleared the application
HI= district has approved the application in the inbox.
Once all the blocks are LC or S the permit can be set to HC.

RE: Q & A from Apr 22, 2009 - Ref#:422102451 and Reference #32094543; Error Message "Another user has modified this data, please reload data before making changes."

We are adding a fourth SU in a FG block, not yet declared to match original SP / BEC information reflected in the field survey.

We followed the work around, using the "No Regen Obligations" and saved the data succesfully.

However, when we enter the Amendment Rationale: and save, we get the same error message;twice instead of the three error messages without the work around. The same occurs when we enter the prefered species listing.

The amendment is not accepted and we are dead in the water. Declaration date is December 1, 2009. Is there a new work around that might work? Thanks.
  • Nov 10, 2009 -
A work around for the problem of entering Amendment comments:
The very first time when a user pressing the amendment button and goes to the "RESULTS312 - Stocking Standard Amendment Request" screen tries to enter a comment, RESULTS gives the error: "another user has modified the data".

If you are in the "RESULTS312 - Stocking Standard Amendment Request" screen and if RESULTS gives the error: "another user has modified the data" when trying to enter a comment:

Simply press the back button to return to the "RESULTS310 - Stocking Standards" screen and then press the amendment button again to return to the "RESULTS312 - Stocking Standard Amendment Request" screen.

This time, when entering a comment, RESULTS should allow you to save the comment.

Are woodlot licensees required to submit/declare regeneration delay in Results? Does the answer differ for Forest Practice Code and FRPA blocks?

What about major licensees? Are they required to submit/declare regeneration delay in Results?
  • Oct 15, 2009 -
For Woodlots only the Free Growing Milestone declarations are required. Regeneration declarations are optional but recommended to submit.
Milestones declarations are optional under FRPA Section 107 and WPPR Section 84; however Licensees who do not declare the achievement of milestones will continue to hold the liability for the reforestation obligation. Therefore milestone declarations are highly recommended.

The submission specifications which include this information can be found at [http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/his/results/business.htm]

Hello,

I have a cutblock that has been amended from one opening into two separate openings.

The reason we have done this is that the regen delay date will not be achieved by the time harvesting is complete (Section 34 and 36 of FPC).

In order to meet regen delay, we have amended this one opening into two separate openings. As such, there are changes to the opening sizes, and the sizes of the standards units.

The original opening had 3 standards units. The amended opening has 2 standards units, and the new opening also has 2 standards units. The new opening consists of un-harvested timber. Harvesting is complete on the amended opening.

This is a Code era block, and the block is under an approved FDP.

At this time, I do not know the status of the CP, but this is something which I've inquired about.

So, how do I submit this into RESULTS?
Contact me if you have questions. Thanks

In the case of wildfires, how does Results re-set the milestone dates.

If a requirement is to send in a new disturbance record of wildfire will the system over ride the existing milestone dates?

Do we have to send in an amendment as well?
  • Oct 7, 2009 -
This falls under the application for relief using FRPA 108 application.
There is information on this in the document entitled RESULTS Information Submission Specifications for Government Funded Silviculute Activities. This is located on the RESULTS Homepage http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/his/results/ under Business and Policy Documentation - See page 52.
Please contact APPHELP for further information at 250-387-8888 or E-mail FORHISP.APPHELP@gov.bc.ca

I am wondering about woodlot annual reports. If there are no activities on the woodlot is there still an obligation for an annual report? and how is this accomplished?
  • Aug 24, 2009 -
If there are no activities to report (no harvesting or silviculture activities carried out during the reporting period) then no submissions to RESULTS are required according to P. 4 of the March 12, 2007 "Woodlot Licensee Guide to the submission of Silviculture Reporting Requirments to RESULTS via the ESF" (http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/his/results/WL_Guide_Submission_to_RESULTS_20070312.pdf)

Can you tell me if the problem outlined in the question from Apr 22, 2009 - Ref#:422102451 has been resolved?
This question is similar to #32094543...
  • Aug 7, 2009 -
The problem described in 422102451 is fixed in the test version of RESULTS and will be included in the next release of RESULTS. This date has not been determined yet as other issues are still being tested.

In reviewing a few of our openings, I have noticed that some information 'submitted' by various parties has not made it through to the display pages in RESULTS. When you query the Event Tracking screen, all information appears to be there, but nothing has been uploaded. Some of this information dates back to 2006. I did look in the inbox to see if I could find any of the openings with no luck. How can I find out how many openings and what information is sitting in que which has not been uploaded. Could it be that the Client has entered the information for upload and not 'hit' the submit button? If we can not contact the party that prepared the inital submission, how can we ensure this information now gets into RESULTS?
  • Aug 6, 2009 - Scott Akerley -
Whom ever submits to RESULTS through ESF will get back an E-mail saying the submission number that is unique. This number can be searched on to confirm what was submitted. Depending on what it is it may have needed to be approved in which case it goes to the districts inbox for RESULTS for them to look at. When it is rejected or approved the submitter will receive an E-mail saying so. There is a history record in RESULTS for the openings that will show who did what and when.
If the licensee did not receive an E-mail confirmation then chances are they may have forgotten to submit the file once they created it or they may have sent it in saying it was for validation only where ESF only checks the format of the file.
To find out if the licensee has submitted you can check the district inbox and /or search RESULTS for openings belonging to them. If you still find nothing and the licensee insists they submitted then call APPHELP at 250-387-8888 (FORHISP.APPHELP@gov.bc.ca) and we can see if we can find the information.
