RESULTS Release 4.1
The upcoming release of RESULTS will be undertaken on November 24th starting at 8 am. This means that RESULTS will be unavailabe for about half the day while the migration is completed. The release is composed of a whole range of maintenance and user enhancements that fix numberous bugs and improve the user experience.
If you experience problems or issues with the application after the release, contact the Business Application Support Center by calling 250.387.8888 or by e-mail FORHISP.APPHELP@gov.bc.ca
The user is notified that a map may take some time to be rendered. As well, the user is notified that selecting Exhibit A Spatial at the opening level does not automatically generate a map image.
When uploading new Forest Cover maps, the Rendering Agent will insert newly rendered images into the Opening Map Image table allowing the user to find older archived maps. Previously the Rendering Agent updated the current image, always overwriting the old image. The image will now only be overwritten if the images were rendered on the same day.
Users are now able to enter and save 0% in Maximum Allowable Permanent Access field. However, if the field is left blank, it will default to 7%.
The Expiry Date is updateable on the RESULTS205 screen for Standards linked to FSPs, but only for Standards in Approved status, and will continue to only be allowed for users with the appropriate authority.
Effective date is updateable only when the Standard is not linked to an FSP.
Business Rules
1. When the status is NOT Approved, the expiry date can NOT be updated.
2. When Standards ID is linked to FSP, Effective Date can’t be updated on RESULTS 205 screen.
3. When Standards ID is linked to FSP and the user role is RESULTS_SYS_ADMIN, ‘Edit’ button should be disabled on RESULTS 205 screen.
There are now two new search criteria to the 501 screen.
· FSP ID
· Default standards indicator
On every screen where FSP ID is displayed for a Standard, the FSP ID text is a live link that navigates directly to the FSP500 screen. Users that do not have the appropriate FSP permissions will have the navigation to FSPTS rejected.
At least one of the offset fields is mandatory when an SU is created. The Obligations section is now included in the first sections’ save action so that it has to get entered on the initial save. The Regen and Late Free Growing fields are mandatory when Regen Obligation is selected, and Late Free Growing field are mandatory when No Regen Obligation is selected. RESULTS311 and RESULTS 312 screens affected.
The Disturbance Technique Field on the Disturbance Detail screen has been removed.
The stems/ha field increased in size to max of four digits (9999) for PR and JS screens.
The Inter-Agency number is now mandatory for funding source codes = FIL, FTL, FTM.
BGC Zone Search results list no longer displays expired codes.
On all search screens, the Back action has been updated to ensure that search criteria do not get lost or scrambled.
On the RESULTS108 – FRPA 108 applications screen, the user can add attachments directly to an application rather than storing them in the attachments section for the opening.
Each attachment is limited to the standard attachment size for RESULTS and there is a maximum of 5 attachments allowed per section 108 application.
The Regen and Late Free Growing fields are now mandatory when Regen Obligation is selected, and Late Free Growing field is mandatory when No Regen Obligation is selected.
If an existing opening has a Max Soil Disturbance value of Null, an ESF ‘Update’ file with Null is allowed and defaulted to 5%, If the opening standard has an SSID. If the opening standard does not have an SSID, then an ESF ‘Update’ file with Null is allowed and value entered in to the database is null.
Maximum Soil Disturbance can be updated through all Action Codes except Minor Amendment.
BEC information is now mandatory for all SU submissions and cannot be set to blank.

BCTS silviculture obligations
For RESULTS openings which BCTS is the Silviculture Obligation holder a data fix has been perfomred to add BCTS as the "O" client so that Stocking Standard ID's belonging to BCTS can be used on the opening SU's. This was done only on blocks requiring the data fix. If you find an opening for which a BCTS SSID is required but is not accepted please contact APPHELP at 250-387-8888 or E-mail: [FORHISP.APPHELP@gov.bc.ca]

Reserve Type Codes - Retirement Notice
On November 30, 2009, all Reserve Type codes, with the exception of G=Group, and D=Dispersed will be retired. This will eliminate redundancies between Reserve Type and Reserve Objective codes that are affecting data interpretation, reports, inconsistencies with various MFR business areas and linkages to other MFR applications. As a result, Wildlife tree and riparian reserves will be defined under the Reserve Objective codes (instead of Reserve Type codes). Any ministry CRS reports and applications such as LRDW that modelled any reports or views based on Reserve Type will also be modified to reflect these changes. Bulletins will be posted when the enhancements have been completed.
The interim procedures for submitting forest cover with reserves and/or retention http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/his/results/Forest_Cover_Retention_Submissions.pdf reflect the recommended reporting structures which take into account the changes that will be made to the Reserve Type codes. These procedures have been prepared to help ensure consistency in reporting and subsequent interpretation of forest cover data for timber supply reviews.
Interim procedures for submitting forest cover, with long term reserves or short term retention, to RESULTS are available at:
