Forest health knowledge is vital to the successful implementation of incremental
silviculture activities, and their subsequent return on investment. Forest health
factors can impact investments by preventing the achievement of expected growth,
and by limiting the potential areas for conducting enhanced forestry activities.
Forest productivity can be greatly enhanced by identifying current and potential
forest health concerns in the stand, identifying activities in the stand management
prescription to address forest health concerns, and conducting these activities.
The Ministry of Forests supports the Forest Renewal B.C. Enhanced Forestry Program
(EFP) by providing the knowledge and skills needed to maintain the health and
productivity of areas treated under the EFP program.
This Website contains information, training and tools to augment knowledge
of forest health issues, treatments and survey methods.
The courses and other products featured on this site were developed with
funding from Forest Renewal BC.
