Forestry Agreement and Woodlot for Pacheedaht

Pacheedaht forestry advisor Tom Jones witnesses the forestry agreement just signed by Minister of Forests Mike de Jong and  Pacheedaht Chief Councillor Marvin McClurg. 
de Jong and McClurg seal the agreement with a handshake. Under the agreement, the Pacheedaht will receive $638,725 in revenue sharing and 37,000 cubic metres of timber.

A 398-hectare woodlot in the San Juan River area will also be used to provide forestry training to band members.

Chief McClurg receives a commemorative cedar carving from de Jong. In the foreground is a mask carved by the chief and presented to the minister.
