Minister de Jong talks forestry careers with UBC students

Minister of Forests Michael de Jong fields questions from UBC students after speaking about British Columbia forest policies to a class of fourth-year forestry students and third-year political science students. The Minister noted during his lecture that forestry careers are promising given the forecasted shortage of forestry professionals.

Minister de Jong provides words of advice to students from Dr. George Hoberg's UBC forestry class during his visit to explain government's forest policy changes designed to revitalize British Columbia's forest sector.  Minister de Jong and the UBC students also talked about the importance of acquiring the necessary skills for potential careers in forestry.
The UBC forest policy class discusses the social, environmental and economic challenges of forest resource management with Minister de Jong.  Among the demands facing the forest sector is an increasing need for forestry professionals.
