Minister visits homeowners to promote FireSmart

	Fire prevention and fire safety is everyone's responsibility. The province and fire prevention authorities are encouraging homeowners living in interface areas to take measures to FireSmart their homes and properties. Here, Forests Minister Michael de Jong and Fire Prevention Technician Cheryl Miller present Cranbrook homeowner Kathy Simon with a FireSmart manual.
	The Minister and homeowner Kathy Simon discuss possible fire hazards and ways to make a home FireSmart. This spring, the B.C. Forest Service and the Office of the Fire Commissioner distributed FireSmart homeowner manuals to homeowners and local fire departments across the province.
