Minister de Jong tours Campbell River mill, presents safety award

Mill manager Terry Hamilton (left) leads Minister of Forests Michael de Jong and North Island MLA Rod Visser on a tour of the TimberWest-Elk Falls operation in the Campbell River area. With forestry in B.C. experiencing a recent resurgence, Minister de Jong plans to visit a number of forest companies this summer and fall to get a firsthand look at how business is picking up across the forest sector.

The TimberWest-Elk Falls saw filing department was also presented with the Minister of Forests' Award of Excellence in recognition of their perfect safety record over the last seven years. Mike Wainwright looks on as Stephen Hall accepts the award from Minister de Jong and MLA Visser.
