Minister of Forests and Range Rich Coleman at the official opening of the Farwell Canyon bridge on the South Chilcotin Forest Service Road. The $1.6 million, 95-metre long bridge is made of steel and concrete and features a separate pedestrian crossing. It replaces the historic wooden Farwell Canyon Bridge which was destroyed in a fire in September 2006. Penni Hunt for the Central Cariboo Forest District, and “Tiny” Crombie of Williams Lake assisted with the ribbon cutting. At the wheel of the logging truck in the background is Tony Bremner of Clusko Logging, the first person to drive across the bridge after the official opening.
