In Beijing, the trade mission met with senior officials in China’s Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD).

 In what will prove to be a major development, MOHURD encouraged British Columbia to collaborate on a six-storey wood frame apartment building in Beijing to demonstrate the benefits of wood construction.
 MOHURD provided the B.C. delegation with great advice on how to enhance marketing their forest products to Chinese consumers.
 Minister Bell is presented with a gift in appreciation of the trade mission visit.
