Minister Bell joins Port Alberni Mayor Ken McRae at City Hall to complete the issuing of the community forest, which will support forestry employment and operations while protecting cultural, recreation, wildlife, and visual qualities around Sproat Lake.
Minister Bell observes South Island Forest District Manager Paul Knowles and Port Alberni Mayor Ken McRae put the finishing touches on the community forest paperwork. The agreement allows for the harvesting of up to 18,000 cubic metres per year, which will create forestry jobs and support value added operations in the Alberni Valley.
