Vanderhoof Overpass Leads to Safer Travel

Minister Bell visits the $5.2-million Bobtail Forest Service Road overpass construction project on Highway 16 near Bednesti Lake, underway to improve traffic safety and facilitate the transport of timber.

More than 14,000 trucks cross Highway 16 at the junction each year. The overpass will improve the safety of truck drivers and the travelling public. Construction is expected to be complete in October 2008.

Estimates suggest 600,000 to 700,000 cubic metres of wood will cross this overpass and be carried on Highway 16 below.
