Q
What is VRIMS?

A

VRIMS is the Vegetation Resource Inventory Management System. It includes Vegetation Inventory Data Collection, Quality Assurance, Data Loading, Data Management (Oracle) and data storage. VRIMS data has both spatial and attribute components.

Q
What input data does VRIMS use?

A
VRIMS uses input data (VRI forest cover) and data from RESULTS including depletion and free growing stands. It uses new VRI phase 1 (polygon delineations and descriptions) re-inventories. In addition inventory updates are included due to natural disturbances such as wildfires and insect infestations like mountain pine beetle impacted areas.
