Fort St. John District staff actively solicited public input on the Timber Supply Review in the Fort St. John Timber Supply Area through the following actions:
copies of the three documents were mailed to over 40 organizations, businesses, interest groups and First Nations within the Fort St. John Timber Supply Area and adjacent timber supply areas. The Discussion Paper included a response form, which readers were encouraged to complete and return to the district manager
follow-up telephone calls were made to First Nations, offering briefing sessions
an information session was held with representatives from the local government (see Table 1)
an open house was promoted through advertisements in local newspapers and a direct mail-out to interested parties
articles were published in local newspapers
As Table 1 shows, approximately 20 individuals attended the information session and the open house. The Fort St. John Forest District also received ten written submissions (see Appendix 1).
