The forests in the area promote a wide range of resource uses. The vast, rolling, scenic landscape and many lakes provide a variety of tourism and recreational opportunities. Numerous outdoor activities such as sport fishing, wilderness tourism, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling capitalize on the beauty of the area and its fish and wildlife (SEA page 20).
