The Lakes Timber Supply Area covers 1,123,667 hectares in north-central British Columbia. Three large lakes are the main features: Francois Lake, Babine Lake (British Columbias largest natural lake) and Ootsa Lake (known as the "Gateway to Tweedsmuir Park"). The timber supply area boasts another 400 lakes greater than 10 hectares and an undetermined number of smaller lakes. Gently rolling hills dominate the landscape.
