Description of the Invermere Timber Supply Area

The Invermere Timber Supply Area covers approximately one million hectares in the southeastern portion of British Columbia. The topography is varied, including two rugged mountain ranges (the Rocky Mountains and the Purcell Mountains) separated by a broad, flat valley known as the Rocky Mountain Trench through which the Kootenay river flows south and the Columbia River flows north.
