Provincial impacts

If an allowable annual cut determination is made consistent with the base case, it is estimated that during the first 20 years, annual provincial employment, employment income and government revenues associated with the Bulkley Timber Supply Area harvest would remain at current levels. However, they could begin to decline after 20 years. Ninety years from now, when the long-term timber supply is reached, government revenues could drop by about 50 per cent to $9.6 million annually (SEA page 35). As stated earlier, these estimates do not include increased stumpage revenues from the recently announced Forest Renewal Plan.
